New to the range is the Tucson Hybrid with 226 horsepower and standard AWD; there’s also a Tucson Plug-in Hybrid. EPA combined fuel economy for the base engine is 29 mpg (FWD) and 26 mpg (AWD), with the Hybrid at 37 to 38 mpg. The PHEV, meanwhile, has an estimated 261 horsepower and offers 32 miles of electric range.
Wild new styling adorns a body that’s larger than before and rides on a longer wheelbase. Passenger space is generous and cargo space has increased as well. An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, while a 10.25-inch unit with navigation comes in upper trims, though its lack of physical volume and tuning knobs maybe be off-putting. A digital instrument cluster is available as well.
The Tucson is available in SE, SEL, SEL Convenience, N Line, SEL Premium, and Limited trim levels. The Hybrid trims are Blue, SEL Convenience, and Limited. Upper trims have a robust list of tech features such as adaptive cruise control, wireless charging, and heated front and rear seats.
