Beach Volleyball
Arizona State beach volleyball (6-9, 3-5 Pac-12) had another split day at the Pac-12 North Invitational. On Sunday, the Sun Devils beat Washington again, but lost to No. 2 USC.
In the first match of the day, it was the back set of pairings that carried the Sun Devils to victory. Lila Bordis/Samantha Plaster and Cierra Flood/Sarah Waters kept their solid weekend going against the Huskies. Both pairings won their courts against Washington in two sets.
Taryn Ames and Lauren Weintraub later clinched the team win with a sweep on court five. Full results can be seen below:

Water Polo
Fifth-ranked Arizona State water polo (12-7, 6-4 MPSF) nearly pulled off the weekend sweep of No. 2 UCLA (8-2, 6-2). Instead the Bruins found the sudden-death goal in the seventh period for a 11-10 win on Sunday.
The Sun Devils raced out to a three-goal lead into halftime. However, UCLA answered back with six goals in the third period from six different players. The teams traded goals in the fourth, fifth and sixth periods before UCLA scored the difference maker.
Freshman Luca Petovary led Arizona State with three goals.
The Sun Devils travel to USC on April 17 and 18.
Soccer
For the first time this season, No. 17 Arizona State soccer (8-4-2, 4-3-2 Pac-12) lost consecutive matches. Colorado (8-5-2, 4-4-2) seized its opportunities for a 2-0 win on Sunday.
The teams had similar numbers following the final whistle. Each team had five shots on goal, Arizona State had the total shot advantage 15-14, Colorado earned one more corner kick than the Sun Devils.
Alyssa Duke put in a header off a corner kick in the 34th minute. The lead was extended in the 47th minute. Colorado’s Kayleigh Webb sent in a cross that went off a Sun Devil defender’s head and fell right in front of Shyra James for a clear shot on goal.
Olivia Nguyen had a good chance in the 18th minute, but her shot got tipped above the bar by Colorado keeper Dani Hansen. Hansen also knocked away a close Nicole Douglas shot.
The Sun Devils head into their season finale with Arizona on April 16 really needing a win to help their NCAA Tournament hopes.
