A four-star tight end from the class of 2023 will make his college commitment live Wednesday on CBS Sports HQ at 9:30 a.m. ET when Swedish prospect Theodor Ohrstrom announces his choice from a list of finalists that includes LSU, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Alabama. The Aggies are considered the favorite to land Ohrstrom, according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball. Ohrstrom ranks as the No. 180 prospect in the 2023 class and No. 14 tight end, according to the 247Sports Composite. It's no surprise that the 6-foot-6 athlete is the top prospect from Sweden in the class, but he won't be the first European to land a big-time scholarship in recent years. As part of the PPI Recruits pipeline, he is one of dozens of international prospects from across the continent to land offers in recent years through the PPI program.
As a relative newcomer to the sport, Ohrstrom appears to have plenty of upside after finding a team at RIG Academy School in Sweden and shining in American prospect camps in recent months.
"It was an experience of a lifetime," Ohrstrom told 247Sports of his recent camp opportunities. "In April I was extremely stressed and didn't know what I was going to do or if I was going to be able to go on tour because of the pandemic and everything. I went from not having any idea what I'm going to do to being able to get on the tour and getting a lot closer to achieving my dreams. I'm grateful and thankful for that."
