Katie Nolan announced on Wednesday that her time with ESPN has come to an end.
Nolan, who first joined the company in 2017 from Fox Sports, confirmed she was no longer employed there via Twitter post:
I’ve thought about sending this tweet for weeks and I still have no clue how to make it not make you all roll your eyes. Alas: the obvious thing has happened. I no longer work at ESPN. I’m really grateful for my time here. I made incredible friendships and valuable mistakes.

ESPN responded statement that read, "We thank Katie for her contributions to ESPN and wish her luck in the future."
The move might not come as too much of a surprise, considering her show, "Always Late with Katie Nolan," was canceled in early 2020 at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also appeared on the 'Highly Questionable' finale on Sept. 10, 2021, a day after ESPN announced its cancellation; her last podcast, "Sports? with Katie Nolan," posted on Friday. She was also a co-host of a version of "SportsCenter" on SnapChat.
Nolan further explained what's next for her and why she is moving on from ESPN. She suggested that "this year of slowing down" had affected her on a "cellular level," which should come as no surprise to her podcast audience. She also suggested she would continue to remain in the podcast game after some time, but that she might take a vacation before making a final decision:

For the sake of brevity I’m gonna handle most of my thank yous via text, but I do want to publicly sing the praises of @AshleyBraband, a woman who made a lot of personal sacrifices in service of ESPN and myself, and who may never know how much that means to me.

Lastly, to the most beleaguered podcast fans in the game: Thank you, for all of it. Seeing you be decent and hilarious with each other online is the best evidence I have that I’m on a path worth walking. You rule. If you’re still here when I get back, I won’t forget that. LYMI.
