ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Brad Swan attributes his Swan’s Sport Shop’s success to great customer service — something the store has strived to provide since its opening in 1969.
“We go the extra mile for people. And our quality — we have really good quality,” he said.
The shop provides a variety of clothing merchandise and sporting goods for all kinds of athletes and teams. It creates printed and embroidered merchandise on site for teams, companies and fundraisers.
Swan said his shop’s online fundraising for schools and groups has really taken off during the past couple years, and especially during the past year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our online fundraising applications were very good this year. … You don’t have to handle money,” he said.
Swan said instead of athletes having to go doo- to-door to make orders and collect money, he creates a website just for that team and its fundraising items. All the coach and players have to do is share the website link and people can order directly from it.
When the deadline for ordering items is reached, the online store closes and Swan writes the team a check. It also creates the items ordered.
“Their only goal is to promote the link,” he said.
Swan said his shop uses the latest technology for screen printing and embroidery.
And his employees, many of whom have been with the shop for 15 years or more, are good at their jobs and operating the machinery.
“We keep up with technology. … The machinery today compared to 1980 — there is no comparison,” he added.
In addition to screen printing, the shop also has foil printing, glitter shirts and CAD CUT vinyl applications. It can also help with logo development and design.
Swan’s can embroider a variety of merchandise including varsity jackets, company logos, shirts and polos, hats and company logos. Swan’s can also outfit entire teams with jerseys, sports equipment and spirit wear.
