Men’s Golf

Arizona State men’s golf finished on top at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford. The Sun Devils, who won the tournament at -15, and the host Cardinal, were the only two teams to finish under par.

In was a team effort in the win but Ryggs Johnston and Chun An Yu stood out. Both golfers finished the tournament at -5, which was good enough for seventh place on the individual leaderboard. David Puig went -2 and Cameron Sisk and Mason Andersen each ended at +2.

Round two and three really put Arizona State on a path to victory as they shot a combined -13 in the later part of the tournament.

Arizona State will enter the tee box again in Augusta, Georgia for the Augusta Haskins tournament starting on April 3.

Water Polo

No. 4 Arizona State water polo (10-4, 4-1 Pac-12) stayed hot on Saturday. The Sun Devils’ 9-2 win victory over No. 14 Indiana (8-7, 0-3) at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center marked the team’s fifth win in its last six games.

The Sun Devils jumped out to a six-goal lead before Indiana scored once. Bente Rogge scored three of those, as she finished with a team-high four goals. Five other ASU players also netted a goal.

The Hoosiers didn’t score until late into the third period and finished at a .080 shot percentage. Arizona State’s Chelsea Karimazondo finished with seven saves and only allowed one goal.

It was an all around solid day for the Devils, who will meet Indiana again on Sunday at 10 a.m. local time.
