With the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) expected to approve changes to allow Division I athletes to profit off of their name, image and likeness, Adelphi University will host a virtual micro-class to discuss the topic on Thursday, February 11. The 30-minute class will be hosted by Greg Bouris, director of Adelphi's undergraduate Sport Management program and former director of communications for the Major League Baseball Players Association.
In "Collegiate Athletics: The Name, Image and Likeness Debate," Bouris will explore the NCAA's efforts to address this hot-topic issue.
The event is part of the University's "Experience Adelphi" series, which seek to exemplify Adelphi's commitment to lifelong learning and feature topics and speakers unique to the University, sharing their knowledge with the wider community.
The micro-class, which will run from 1 to 1:30 p.m., is free and open to the public. Registration is required. To learn more and register, visit adelphi.edu/events/collegiate-athletics-the-name-image-and-likeness-debate
