The YMCA of Harrison County will offer three sports clinics for youth during the week of March 29 to April 2. These clinics will be short instructional times for youth to come and engage their respective sports while learning the fundamentals of the game.
The three clinics to be offered are:
Soccer Skills — March 29 to 31 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 7 to 13. The Y’s soccer programs are designed to assist children in their development both as a person and as a player. The clinic program structure is arranged to enhance footskills, soccer IQ, skill development and teamwork. This clinic is a quick hitter for young soccer players looking to develop their game. Cost is $30 per member, $35 per participant.
Biddy Baller — March 29 to 31 from 1 to 2 p.m. for ages 3 to 6. This clinic is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of basketball (dribbling, passing, shooting and defense) while getting used to playing an organized sport. Cost of the clinic is $10 per member, $15 per participant.
Basketball Skills — April 1 and 2 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 7 to 13. This clinic will focus on two main skillsets for the game of basketball: shooting and dribbling. Learn the right mechanics for your shot, how to use your dribble effectively and how to implement your skills into the game. Cost of the clinic is $25 per member, $30 per participant.
Registrations for all three clinics will take place from Feb. 20 to March 25.
