CLEVELAND, Ohio-- The Cleveland Power of Sport Summit aims to highlight diversity and sports during NFL Draft weekend from Thursday, Apr.29 - May 1.
The three-day summit at Progressive Field is presented by KeyBank and First Energy Stadium and will be hosted by Velocity, a community-wide initiative through the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. The initiative focuses on gathering leaders in sport to explore new ideas, embrace differences, and enact positive change in the communities they reside.
The event’s goal is to showcase local and national leaders and organizations utilizing their voices to speak on topics related to adaptive sports, gender equity, LGBTQIA + athletes, mental health, racial equity, and more.
Amid COVID, attendees will be able to take part in four learning zones, including the Equality Lounge, presented by The Female Quotient and Cleveland Browns featuring panel discussions with keynote speakers; Digital Learning Lounge where attendees can take in films and documentaries; Community Corner for activities and resources; Workshops & Demonstrations featuring exhibits, displays and sport demos.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees must wear masks per city ordinance, and social distancing measures will be in place.
Here is a schedule of three-day event:
- Thursday, Apr. 29 - 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Friday, Apr. 30 - 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, May 1 - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
